a distinctively Portuguese flavour.

A lovely and decent Portuguese inn with air-conditioned rooms. Pricey though. The Pousada used to be called the Hotel Flamboyant and was infamous as being a place where many Timorese where detained and mistreated by the Indonesian authorities during the Indonesian rule. There is also a restaurant here that provides goo food as well as a good wine list. Be sure to pre-book if staying here, as it is the main accommodation option in Baucau.

Clean and comfortable with a good restaurant. The Pousada is located in idyllic mountain settings on a hill atop the town. All around for miles you are surrounded by the breathtaking views of Timor's mountains. It is much cooler here than Dili. The air is still, sounds of quiet village life break the silence. The restaurant here provides good Portugese fare. This place is a definite must for any trip to Timor-Lester. Rooms are limited so do call to confirm before making the trip.
