On 12th September 1999, the war in East Timor officially ended.

The chickens, however, still refuse to come to the negotiating table.

For a 4-year old, East Timor has an ancient, almost primitive obsession with cockfighting.

One minute, it’s 2006; the next minute, you’re transported several centuries back in time to a tribal wedding, a headhunter’s dance or a limestone cave frescoed with 5000-year old Austronesian art.
